Happy Friday!
How is it mid-August already?
Never mind, with a weekend just out ahead, I thought I’d share a few summery postcards with you.

We’ve officially reached the peak of summer, and daily temperatures blaze into the high 30s. And even though there are plenty of ways to cool off, nothing beats a trip to the beach.
Problem is, everyone else has the same idea—including the floods of tourists who’ve flown in specially!
I’m pretty sure I’ve told you that during the summer months, the island’s population triples—and it’s certainly noticeable. It sort of reminds me of a summer’s day in London—everyone heads to lidos and parks; here, it’s the beaches.
So as you might imagine, finding a quiet spot can be tricky on popular beaches —every inch of sand is quickly claimed.
The influx of extra people gives the island a completely different vibe from the quieter months, but it still holds its own kind of magic.
What you can’t see from some of these pics is the energy. You can’t hear the joyful sounds of kids laughing, the splashing of waves, or the chatter beneath the colourful umbrellas. There’s just that constant hum in the air that screams “summer.”
But if it’s silence you seek, don’t worry—you can escape the noise by heading out into the sea. I love heading out for an early morning stroll just before the day’s visitors grab their spots!

But enough from me—does the vibe in your neighbourhood change much during the summer months? And more importantly, how are you staying cool?
Looks wonderful!
Thank you! 😊
