Thought we could sit and talk about something a bit different today—meditation, or more the lack thereof.
Ever since the pandemic, I’ve struggled to keep up with my routine.
It’s counterproductive too, because meditation helps with overthinking, anxiety and everyday stress. But you know how it goes—time, distractions, bingeworthy tv or dare I say scrolling and suddenly…
it feels like one more thing on the to-do list!
But not today.
Because I’m determined to get back into the routine and have made it my mission to find some quick guided meditations.
So, here are a few gems I stumbled across on YouTube that I reckon you’ll enjoy too:
Yoga Journal with Jessamyn Stanley – Meditation for Beginners to Clear Thoughts
Jessamyn’s calming voice and aura make her a favourite. From the minute she pops up on the screen, it’s like she’s talking to YOU. Her presence just oozes peace and she guides you through a beautiful, grounding meditation. And it’s for beginners. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!
Lavendaire – 5 Minute Guided Morning Meditation for Positive Energy
Aileen’s affirmations empower you to start the day on a positive note. Though short and sweet, she has a soothing energy that will help you set your intention for the whole day. I mean I was rearing to go at 8pm!
Journey with Eternity – 5 Minute Sound Meditation for Relaxation
I hadn’t tried sound meditation before—have you? Well, let me tell you about Eternity’s 5-minute sound meditation. The sounds she creates is like a little pick me up for the soul. Think girly trip to the spa (minus the cheeky glass of prosecco), or better yet…try it.
Manoj Dias – 5 Minute Guided Meditation for Sleep
Manoj mindfully guides you into total relaxation. His calming voice to the backdrop of soothing music feels like the perfect duo for those nights when you just can’t relax or drift off.
5 Minute Timer with Rain Sounds
I know I bang on about the sound of the sea, but I do love the sound of rain too. (Water, really) This 5 minute timer is perfect if you prefer background sounds. Normally, I’m a bit cynical of nature sounds online, but the rain hitting the ground and the occasional thunder combo sounded pretty authentic to me.
Bonus: How to Practise Mindfulness Meditation with Manoj Dias
Just in case you’re looking for more than just guided meditation (or like me, out of practise), Manoj breaks down how to bring mindfulness into everyday life. He speaks so eloquently and packages everything up beautifully, so it’s super easy to follow.
I know how hard it is to make routines stick, but seriously, five minutes felt like one minute.
And I liked them all, but at the moment, I’m leaning toward Jessamyn’s meditation—at least for today. But I’d love to know who speaks to you most. Try one of these guided meditations out, see how it feels, and let me know how you get on.
I’ll leave you to it now!
Have a lovely weekend
