Surely I’m not the only one who remembers those simple pleasures we made time for during the pandemic. For me, it was heading out to watch the sunrise—a habit that, like baking and DIY projects, got tossed aside as we sped into the ‘new normal.’
Well, this week, I finally pried open that metaphorical box—and my eyes—to catch the sunrise again, snapping these shots.

There’s something undeniably magical about this hour—the hushed stillness of early morning. With the sky bathed in a kaleidoscope of colours and the symphony of birdsong mingling with the gentle gurgle of the sea, overthinking doesn’t even stand a chance. Your senses are completely absorbed by what’s happening right now, making it hard to feel anything but a gooey appreciation for the moment.
I’ll spare you all my lovesick thoughts and instead leave you with a quote that perfectly captures the wonder of these moments: ‘We live on a blue planet that circles around a ball of fire next to a moon that moves the sea, and you still don’t believe in miracles.’
And maybe this weekend, is the weekend you’ll find time to do that simple thing you enjoy(ed).
