I Reckon You’ll Love the Beaches Even More in October

You know that feeling when summer starts winding down? Everyone dashes to the beach to make the most out of those final days?  Well, I was convinced I’d miss the chaos of summer, but then October rolled in and everything changed.

Now you’ve got emptier beaches–which I love. Fewer boats bobbing about and cluttering up the beach. And probably the best thing for an island with 400,000+ cars.  More parking spots! It’s like a breath of fresh air! Plus the water is still around 25°C (77°F), so you’re all good for a dip.

At the weekend, I grabbed my book–The Colour Purple and plonked myself down on the sand. There’s something about the sound of the waves and the smell of sea salt hanging in the air that just makes everything feel— right as rain.  And and and…is there any better feeling than jumping into refreshing crystalline water on a warm day? (yep, it’s still hot)

I can’t tell you how much I love summer, but there’s a special kind of peace in October that makes even the most popular of beaches feel like a hidden gem.

Have you tried a beach day this time of year?  Honestly, I think you might fall in love with it too. And If you haven’t yet, then consider these snaps, your first official one!
