The Walk of Shame

Have you had (m)any ‘what was I thinking’ moments this week?

Mine started with getting off the bus early to get my steps in.

Well, it seemed like a good idea—until I bumped into my ex-boss, who still models in his spare time.

I was walking along a busy road, a banger pumping through my headphones, the sun shining, and not gonna lie: I was kinda feeling myself.

And then there he was, jogging towards me like he’s in some 80s music video.

(Btw, If you’re wondering why millennials are dramatic, this is no doubt why).

God only knows why I thought it was a good idea to grab his arm as he passed by me.

But bless him, he sort of half-stopped and took to jogging on the spot, like we were in some awkward slow-motion movie scene.

He’s always been super polite, so he mouthed what I think was ‘gotta go,’ but I missed all the head-nudging and forward direction cues until I finally shuffled off with him.

It was an absolute mess of miscommunication.

So, what did I do?

Sloped off somewhere quieter, pulled out my phone, and took to playing wannabe photographer instead!

Obviously I had to hang back a bit to make sure he was well gone.

Maybe not the best way to mask the shame, but it took the sting out of it and at least now I have a photo to share!

Still, I’m hoping for an awkward-free weekend.

But I’m all ears, have you had any cringeworthy moments you’re brave enough to share?
