Planning a trip to Malta but still unsure where to stay in Mellieha? Whether you’re on the lookout for a luxury beachfront escape, a family-friendly retreat, or a budget-friendly gem, here are four of my ABSOLUTE fave places to relax, recharge, and soak up everything the beautiful village of Mellieha has to offer.
Radisson Blu Resort & Spa Mellieha

Perched on the pristine sands of Golden Sand beach is the 338 room luxurious retreat, Radisson Blu Resort & Spa. Everything here has been specifically designed to help you unwind: four outdoor pools, intoxicating cocktail bars, restaurants serving sumptuous dinners, a kids club to entertain hyperactive children and a Myopa Spa specialising in relaxing therapies. Contemporary rooms with a private balcony offer either panoramic seaside views or the Maltese countryside.

Maritim Antonine Hotel & Spa

Maritim Antonine Hotel & Spa sits right on Mellieha’s main street, just a short walk from the Parish Church. This 178-room hotel combines traditional style with modern touches, thanks to a recent makeover. The rooms are simple but elegant and are spread across two buildings, giving guests plenty of space to relax—whether that’s at the spa, in the indoor pool, or in the cosy communal areas.
When it comes to dining, you’re spoiled for choice with three restaurants on-site. And if you do stay here, make sure you head up to Antonine Alfresco on the roof—it’s the perfect spot for great food and stunning views. But, if you don’t fancy a sit-down meal, you can enjoy a mai tai or your favourite cocktail(s) by the pool! This is if you can tear yourself away from your rooms balcony, which offer good views for people-watching in Mellieha.

Solana Hotel & Spa

Over 13 years ago, my Maltese adventure began right here at Solana Hotel. Following a sleek refurbishment in 2018, the 80-room hotel now exudes modernity and charm, and I’ve found myself returning countless times. Perfectly located on Mellieha’s bustling main street, Solana is an ideal base for exploring the area’s highlights as you will find in my guide here (20 Things to Do That Will Make You Love Mellieha). In short, you can visit nearby attractions like the whimsical Popeye Village, the historic Red Tower, or the intriguing War Shelters, and enjoy boat trips to the stunning islands of Comino or Gozo. Rooms range from cozy doubles to spacious one-bedroom apartments, some featuring kitchenettes—a thoughtful touch for budget-conscious travellers and families with picky eaters.

Mellieha Holiday Centre

Locally known as Danish Village, Mellieha Holiday Centre is right next door to the peaceful Ghadira Nature Reserve. The unique complex is made up of 150 self-contained bungalows, each with its own private courtyard—perfect for a family getaway. Step outside your bungalow and you’ll find beautifully kept gardens that make for a relaxing and quiet atmosphere. For added convenience, there’s an on-site restaurant and supermarket. And if you’re up for a beach day, Ghadira Bay is just across the road. But, if the thought of sandy toes isn’t your thing, don’t worry—there are three pools on-site for you to enjoy!
